Artful memorials for roadkill slow traffic

Artist Ruth Waterhouse was appalled by the number of dead animals she found by a local road.

So she started marking their deaths with little tags, letting drivers see exactly how many animals were dying there.

And it worked!

Drivers slowed and far fewer animals fell under their wheels.
